SO, YOU WANT TO PURCHASE A PUPPY

     As a breeder, we will have a limited number of puppies and litters. While all of our puppies are very cute and adorable, as they grow, they will change in appearance ( our poodles are very unlikely to keep dark colouring and will nearly always become lighter as they mature) and develop different personalities from one another.
Often, people say they wish to purchase a ‘specific puppy’ (ie. I want the brown female). While we can appreciate the ‘love at first sight’ feeling, that particular puppy may simply not suit your family. Usually in each litter there are several puppies that will be a good fit for a family and we will try to match people’s request as closely as possible.
We want to ensure that the puppy you receive from us will be the puppy that is as perfect a match as possible for your family as possible. We want to make sure you will be absolutely smitten with your long term decision to purchase a puppy, one that will successfully generate years of happiness for you and your new family member.

                                                                                                     AS RESPONSIBLE BREEDERS – WE DO OUR RESEARCH 

 We have a Client Questionnaire and will ask you questions that will allow us to get an idea of what ‘puppy personality’ would best suit your family. We do not want a mismatch that makes the family and puppy unhappy. In the past we have restricted the sale of a particular puppy because that puppy needed a very specific type of  family. We are happy to say that family was found and they love her and we couldn’t be more happy for them both.

We evaluate our puppies. We conduct the ‘Volhard Puppy Aptitude Testing’ to determine the traits of that puppy. We strongly believe that while most of our puppies are happy go lucky and generally love everyone, we do occasionally have some that are more suited to a certain environments (ie. highly active family, hunting…). We are sorry to say that not every puppy is a perfect fit for every family, however we are sure that we can help you find the best match for your family!

                                                                                                                                     WHAT DO I DO?

To purchase a puppy, we will require you to place a $500 Refundable Deposit. This deposit is completely 100% refundable, no questions asked. The deposit will allow you to pick a puppy based on the order in which your deposit was received. The first person to place their deposit will be the first person to choose a puppy, the second person to place their deposit will be second to choose a puppy and so on.

Once you have placed your deposit, you will receive a receipt and our Client Questionnaire. The receipt will detail that the deposit was received, the date on which the deposit was received, the remaining balance and your position or order in which you will get to choose your puppy.

Once you have placed your deposit the remaining balance must be paid before the puppy is released to you. Usually, in the 8th week.

WHEN DO I CHOOSE MY PUPPY?

In the 5th to 6th Week, after your Client Questionnaire has been returned and the Volhard Test has been performed. We will show you the puppies available to you and make suggestions as to which puppy we feel will best suit your family. In person viewing of the puppies is not permitted until the 7th week. Unlimited zoom viewings will be available. Once you have chosen your puppy, that puppy is removed from the remaining available puppies for the next person. Hence the next person will not be shown your puppy. Your puppy is your puppy.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I CHANGE MY MIND?

Unfortunately life happens and any number of things can result in having to change your mind. We do not penalize anyone for this. Should you get to your turn to choose and feel that the remaining puppies available do not fulfill what you are hoping for, you have 3 options to choose from.

-you can wait to see if anyone that has chosen before you has changed their mind

-you can go on our next waitlist in a higher position. (if you change your mind later about the waitlist, you are still entitled to a refund)

– we will happily refund your deposit, in full

We will not take anyone’s puppy away once the selection of puppy has been made. No one will be required to purchase a puppy they are not 100% happy with.
